What does it mean to Pre-Order a Pello?
We really love that you are considering a pello for your next bike and we want to make sure it is one if the best experiences for you and your child as you embark or continue your journey riding for a lifetime, after all cycling is a lifetime activity! Please read more below for details and explanations on how pre-ordering a pello works.
Timeline: We expect our geared bikes (20”-27.5”) to arrive in the Winter/Spring of 2023. At this time we are estimating to begin shipping these bikes in February/March 2023. With so many factors in the air this could be sooner or later, as we near winter we will provide more definite dates.
Please keep in mind these dates as it is important to consider what happens behind the scenes as the bicycle production process has become more complex and timeframes are extended because of the ripple of Covid-19. In the past our production times were anywhere from 3-6 months from the time we place our order to the time we receive our bikes. Our bikes are designed to our exact specifications that we have refined over the years and they are built in Asia (Taiwan). Since the Covid-19 pandemic occurred our production times has extended from 3-6 months to over 2 years. In the bicycle production world you are only as fast as your slowest part. This means that our production partners need to gather all the parts that comprise the bike from all the different manufactures that make the parts (think of tires, brakes, shifters, etc) before they can go to production. Our production time only takes about 1-2 weeks when we have all the parts to make the bikes, some parts take longer to get than others. Covid-19 has created a great surge in bicycle awareness that has been awesome in so many ways because so many more people are getting out on bikes and seeing the uncountable benefits of riding a bike and sharing family time on the bike. On the other side this surge has created a shortage in parts for building a bike because so many bikes have been sold. That said we are doing the best we can in working with our production team and maintaining the quality that Pello is known for.
Size Up Guarantee: We know this timeline is a long time to wait when a child’s growth does not wait. That is why we are guaranteeing you the right size when the bikes begin shipping. If you find that your little one hit a growth spurt between the time you pre-ordered and the time the bike ships simply send us an email at info@pellobikes.com that you’d like to move up a size and we will apply the entire amount of your pre-order purchase towards the next size up bike. For example, if mom purchased a 20” rover for little Maggie and thinks that she has grown into the 24” reyes then we can apply the order from the rover to the reyes and mom just pays the difference.
Purchase: Our preorder process works the same as purchasing a bike. This guarantees that you will have a bike when they come in. We will ship your bike in the order it was received through our website.
Cancel Order: Again, these time frames are way longer than we would like and we understand that things change and maybe you found another bike or just changed your mind. No problem, should you decide to cancel for any reason before your bike ships simply send us an email at info@pellobikes.com and we will credit you back the full amount of your purchase minus 4% for the credit card fees and processing.
